The McComb Local School District is seeking input from district residents related to current school facilities. The results from the survey will assist in future facility planning. The McComb School building complex consists of three buildings built in: 1924 (main building), 1976 (gymnasium area), and 1998 (cafeteria/music rooms and classrooms by bus garage). The bus garage was built in 1955. Surveys will be collected through October 29, 2021.
Do you know what the cost per square foot to construct a new classroom is? According to the 2021 Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) design manual, the total cost of new school construction per square foot is between $305 and $330 in Northwest Ohio. The standard classroom is right around 1000 square feet. Thus, the complete cost to build one classroom starting with site prep to a finished classroom is over $300,000.
We now have a portal set up for anyone who is interested in getting McComb School alerts via text and/or email. This is mostly for grandparents, students, or local citizens who no longer have students attending the school. The current alerts are only being sent to PARENTS/GUARDIANS of students in the school. Setting up an account in this portal will allow you to manage what alerts you get. (As we develop this site, there may be more alerts added as the year progresses.)
*** PLEASE NOTE *** If you already signed up for the Sports Alerts, you have an account set up - all you have to do is sign in with your email address to manage what other alerts you want to have sent to you. No password is required.
